Set in the Aberdeenshire countryside near Turriff, Uppermill is home to one of our free range flocks.
Our girls roam freely across the range, stretching their legs, foraging and exploring the countryside around them.
Our hens are naturally inquisitive and love nothing more than getting out and about.
Fortunately, there's plenty for them to investigate as we have planted almost 2000 trees here!
The combination of Alder, Hawthorn, Beech, Aspen, Blackthorn and Rowan trees have been carefully considered to foster biodiversity and encourage our hens to explore the range.
It’s not just the trees that are green around here!
We’ve fitted 123 kW of solar panels to the roof at Uppermill, helping generate renewable electricity for 40% (and counting) of the farm’s day-to-day operations. It’s one of the ways we’re working to make the farm more sustainable.
